An Evening with those tiny little buds

Thursday, 5 May 2011

It was late that evening. At around 5 PM we started from our office. We planned to visit an orphanage center and spend that evening with them. This was one of the social activities we planned for this month at office!

We reached the place in an hour. I entered the hall with a joy. Joy of meeting hundreds of kids and play with them.

"Aunty.." A kid came shouting at me and held my neck tight and jumped over me. He was Amudhan and i lifted the 2 year old bud in my hands. He was left there when he was just few months. The little bud did not allow me to put him down.

I wondered "How much time have you spent in your mom's hands and rested your head on his shoulder. May be we can just count the number of times. May be somewhere she really miss. May be she did not miss you at all. Or may be she was no more to miss the bud."

Once i lifted Amudhan few other kids surrounded me and pulled me to the place where they were sitting. It was a large hall. The kids were all trained to sit around the hall whenever they had visitors. There were around sixty little buds, few handicaps, few mentally challenged, few were really naughty and few looked very smart and charming with goals and ambitions shinning in their face.

Forgetting what they really are, they played all sort of games with us. After that i happened to see Nisha. She was lying there in the corner. She did not have a backbone and she can only lie down. I remember those tiny eyes watching the kids running around and playing. I could feel the pain of that little heart.

There were lots of such little buds without a sunshine. There is no room for it to blossom. Yet there are few other buds, bubbling buds waiting to bloom and see the outer world.

I was standing there looking and analyzing them and there was nothing else just a "Thank You God" came to my mind. We call blood relations, they are here no even knowing who there parents are and their only blood relations are friends.

It was as if seeing a tree with sixty buds, few yet to blossom, few never can blossom and few takes time to blossom. In all this, all buds consists of that single tree. Tree of relationship, tree of fun, tree of helping hands, tree of selflessness, tree of lovely heart and the tree of God.

Decidated to all the those kids out there in this world who carries not a different blood group, just one blood group called Love!
